Initial Posting

Hey Family.

I thought I would try this as our communication tool, rather than using the phone all the time. I don't know how many of you have "blogged" before, but what do you say we give it a try.

Be looking for your comments soon.

I think that it's a great idea, too - thanks, J.T.!

R A C H E L - I am so happy that you are settled into the new pad - I am thrilled that someone is living in the condo - it is so much better for a home to be lived in than to just sit empty!

I talked with Mary and am planning on going to see Mom Thursday night.

Mom was kinda 'blue' last night - said that she is 'sick of living' and 'bored'.....I tried to offer some suggestions for things to do - craft supplies, knitting, books on tape, movies.....but nothing sounded like fun to her....I also encouraged her to call her friends and invite them for breakfast or lunch at Railside....I also gently reminded her that one of her kids visits her EVERY day and that some people don't ever or rarely have visitors......anyway, just wondering if she was talking that way to everyone of just me!

Love you all!

Just wanted to drop a note to you all. It appears to me that Mom's memory has taken a vacation. I find myself regularly repeating things that I know we have told her the day before, or even earlier that day. I think we all see it, so about all we can do is dig deep for some patience, and enjoy the time we have with her.

I agree - she also seems very tired...wondering if it's the mini strokes or maybe her meds? Does she need a boost of her anti-depressant maybe? Possibly her grief is finally 'catching up' a little bit? Is it worth asking the doctor who visits her there? I would be happy to call/email him or attend an appointment with him the next time he sees her. Do they have a regular time set up?

p.s. I'm as patient as they come....I live with Scott and Ali!
